Since autumn 2007 the Parkview Neighbourhood Watch scheme exists. It already proves effective. On advice of the local police we are to set up the watch scheme block by block. This makes a lot of sense. Why?
  1. Firstly you need a group of people to set it up together with the Safer Neighbourhood Team and already on our block we generate more people per block than the Parkview Tenants and Residents Association generates for the whole estate.
  2. If you now transfer this Watch Scheme to other blocks and each block generates 5 people and there are ~7 block on the estate, this would make at least 35 people or slightly less or more.
  3. The double benefit is you can discuss your local issues in more depth, you have more lobbying power if each block writes separately to the Council, or works with the police or other bodies.
